My job is to lead Vilicom to continuously develop new and innovative approaches to wireless consultancy services & solutions; to achieve our vision of being a world leader in engineering the evolution of communications networks.

My role is to ensure that the right mix of customer focus, engineering expertise, project management, talent development and support services are in place to deliver a great service experience for Vilicom’s clients.

Joining Vilicom in 2002 as an RF Engineer, I progressed to Lead Engineer managing a turnkey service project, then to managing overall service delivery in 2005. In 2011 I took on the role of CEO. Before joining Vilicom I worked as an RF Engineer in the UK, US and Ireland over a period five years.

One of the things that I love about working in Vilicom is that we are building a Learning Organisation where we all expand our capacity to develop our thinking, develop new ideas and achieve our aspirations. We have been working hard at this for a number of years and it has been great to see results of this work and the recognition we have achieved for it.

I hold an honours B.Eng. in Electronics Engineering from Dublin City University and an MBA from University College Dublin. I am a member of the IET.

I recently joined Vilicom as Chief Financial Officer having previously managed high performance finance teams in the energy, medical and construction sectors.

My specialty is leading and supporting teams in growing small companies into large ones trading internationally. The primary objective of our Finance team is to support the various departments by providing information to drive commercial decision making. In addition we also look at ways to continuously improve processes to support Strategy, Projects, Operations and Compliance.

I am Chartered Accountant (FCA). I am also a University College Dublin Commerce (BComm) and Masters in Accounting (MAcc) graduate with Big 4 experience specialising in Financial Services.

I enjoy all types of watersports, golf, skiing and reading.

My job in Vilicom has evolved over the years as per the Vilicom mantra of continuously developing ambitious graduate engineers. Having built up solid technical experience, I now work as the service delivery manager and have overall responsibility for project delivery across all our regional teams. I ensure that the right blend of engineering excellence, project management and all customer requirements are delivered to our own industry leading technical standards.

The role involves planning and developing our own resources and projects to execute a service offering to fit Vilicom’s client requirements. This is achieved by spending time listening to our clients before projects commence and during delivery to incorporate feedback, studying industry trends and staying abreast of future technology roadmaps. Ultimately the job satisfaction I get is knowing that Vilicom has added value for our clients’ projects and processes, and improved our clients’ end-customer experience. Our clients’ customers are very important to us and providing end user service assurance is key to successfully delivering all our projects.

Joining Vilicom in 2006 as a graduate engineer, I initially worked on the delivery of a national mobile benchmarking project before joining the Three Ireland macro network rollout and National Broadband Scheme delivery team. Having completed numerous strategy consulting projects, I’ve consistently delivered technically challenging RF centric projects as well as continuous improvement KPI driven technical engineering roles. I’ve also applied myself as a lead solutions consultant within the business development team before taking on my current role.

I keep active outside work through anything outdoor related, hiking, cycling or even the odd race.

I hold an honours B. Eng in Electronic Engineers from the University of Limerick and I’m a member of the IET.

I am the Commercial Director of Vilicom UK and responsible for the overall performance of the UK business as a member of the leadership team and UK board of directors.

My responsibilities include setting and reviewing business goals and working on our strategy. Ensure that Vilicom is delivering to our customer’s satisfaction. Defining new solutions and developing capabilities to meet evolving customer and industry needs. Contribute to definition of company policies, processes, organisation and structure. Management and Development of Service Delivery and Technical Leads. Lead Business development team and support with account management and business development activities. Monitor financial performance, project and cost tracking and commercial propositions. Support recruitment and building of a strong UK team. Commercial and contractual management of suppliers.

I joined Vilicom in 2004 as part of IBEC’s Export Orientation Programme, an initiative to diver the export goods or services from Ireland. I was initially involved in the delivery of wireless consultancy and turnkey services in various projects worldwide and developed to Principal Consultant of Special Coverage Solutions. After a brief spell with Shared Access working on various neutral host opportunities I returned to Vilicom Engineering to Lead the UK Site Solutions team and have contributed to develop and grow the business over the past number of years and progressed in to my current role as Commercial Director.

I am interested in technology, innovation and enjoy the entrepreneurship and challenges of creating and delivering new projects internationally. Outside of work I devote my time to enjoying music, football, arts and culture amongst family and friends. I hold and honours B.A.I. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering and a B.A. in Mathematics from Trinity College, Dublin. I am a member of the IEEE.

I manage the new business development function within Vilicom, ensuring that we are proactive with our customers to respond to their needs and deliver on their requirements. My role requires a detailed knowledge of our customer’s business and structure, to foresee the products and services they may have need for now and in the future and to deliver proposals and solutions in line with their strategy and our expertise.

I have worked with Esat Digifone, O2 and Viag Interkom in Germany (O2 Germany) in various roles based around the O&M, BSS Deployment, TXN deployment, Project Management and Radio Engineering Team Lead.

I also spent six years developing and running my own company in the Controls Engineering and Audio Visual business in Ireland, employing eight staff based in Dublin. My role requires development of long term relationships with our clients based on mutual trust that Vilicom can and does deliver on our commitments.

I concentrate on developing and negotiating new business with existing customers, working on proposals and ensuring we respond in a timely way to RFQ / RFP requirements. I have a diploma in Electronic Engineering from DIT, a diploma in Business Management from DIT, a Diploma in Business Development from The Open University, and I am currently studying for an MBA from Dublin City University. I am also a trained Life and Business Coach (LBCAI) and qualified in Advance KNX Controls Design and Engineering.

I ensure that the highest standards of engineering excellence are maintained on all our projects and that Vilicom is up to date with emerging and future technologies.

I have been the Technical Director of Vilicom since 1999 as one of the founders of the company. My wireless telecoms career began as a Radio Engineer in Esat Digifone (now O2 Ireland), later joining the BSS Systems group to optimise radio network features and parameters.

My initial role in Vilicom was developing the in-building solutions capabilities and services. I have also worked directly on many specialist consultancy projects with operators gaining extensive experience in 2G and 3G networks.

I also lead the Innovation Program in Vilicom developing new solutions to meet the changing needs of our customers and the telecoms industry.

I have a degree in Electronic Engineering from University College Dublin and I am a member of the Institute of Engineers in Ireland (EI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

My job is to develop and manage Vilicom’s board of directors, maintaining a formal and expert leadership support network which empowers the company’s CEO and management team.

My role is to structure constructive and challenging debate, enabling good and timely decisions to achieve the advancement of our business and the accomplishment of our customers’ missions.

I was co-founder of Vilicom in 1999, and over the past 12 years have held various leadership roles in the company as Operations Director, CEO, and today as Chairman. I began my career as an RF Engineer, launching the second mobile network in Ireland with Esat Digifone.

Having experienced Vilicom as a start-up venture, and always enjoying helping it to grow and attain the structures for continued and wider delivery for our customers, it is now very exciting and rewarding to have the opportunity to build the structures of a Board ready for our next stage of growth.
